Softball, 2A State Playoffs, Second Round: Washington 5, Currituck 3

BARCO — The Currituck softball team was unable to make a repeat trip to the third round on Thursday, falling 5-3 to Washington in the 2A state playoffs.

The Lady Knights, who cruised through the Northeastern Coastal Conference to become league champs, led 3-2 after four innings off a Jesse Wilson two-RBI hit. A string of errors to begin the fifth gave the Lady Pam Pack the advantage, however.

More on the story can be found here.

Currituck loses just one starter off its 2016 club and has repeat All-Area performers Wilson and Lindsey Lykins back as seniors.
